About The Forest
The Forest is a privately
owned hotel with 12 boutique en suite bedrooms, a friendly local bar
and contemporary restaurant listed in Michelin, the Good Food Guide and
awarded 2 rosettes with the AA since opening in 2001. With 2 conference
and private dining rooms The Forest offers competitive delegate rates
and comprehensive menus for any corporate or private entertaining.
History
The Forest was built in 1870 when the train station opened and
has traded as a hotel ever since.
Gary and Tracy Perkins took over in 2001 with the vision of creating
a neighbourhood restaurant with good quality food and service. The Forest
was awarded 2 rosettes by the AA restaurant guide in 2002 and has been
awarded them yearly since. With listings in the Good Food Guide and Michelin,
the restaurant is the heart of everything The Forest stands for.
There are 12 boutique en suite bedrooms, each tastefully decorated with
free wifi, tea and coffee making, and the facilities you would associate
with the AA 4star restaurant with rooms grading. The 2 private function
rooms, the Olive and Claret have licences to hold weddings and civil
partnerships and can accommodate private dining for 10 to 140 guests
for events from christenings to 80th birthday parties.
The Forest offers day or residential delegate conference packages for
companies looking for a more personal service.
